また、この理論によって、あの腸虫、脳虫、内虫、および眼虫などが生じる理由を説明し、これらは皆栄養液の異常な変化から生まれるものだと言った。
思うに、この原始生殖説を信じる理由は、ひたすら有機性の腐敗物から生物が生まれることのみを見て、未だその物質中にすでに虫の卵や草の種が混入していることを知らないことによる。また、この説でなければ、動物の体内に虫類が生じる理屈を説明することができないというのが、この学派が最も頼りとするところである。

すなわち、あの内臓虫のようなものは未だかつて体外で見られたことがないので、実際にその卵を外から運び入れて生じるものとも考え難い。しかしながら、これは結局その考察・検証が未だ行き届いていないところである。これゆえに学者がなお一層活眼を開けば、果たしてその（原始生殖説を）全く否定することができないことを確認するに足るであろう。
