においては自然と繭糸に安住し、河畔の地でなければ蚕種は及ばないとして、敢えて顧みない。
［按］蚕は本来繭を成し、蛹と化し、蛾となって卵種を来年に残すことを造化賦生の本性とする。たまたま蛆となるのは変化したものであって、良い桑の精粗によってわずかに多少はあるとしても、蛾の化生がないという理はない。もし蚕室を設け、桑を培養するのに開達の地を選び、肥料を惜しまず、耕耘に努め、蚕を養うのに厚く心を用いるに至っては、他の蚕種を製造する地

と大きな違いがないことは明らかである。そうであるとはいえ、敢えて行わないのは多年の慣習によるものである。いわく、卵種を製造しようとして肥料に財を費やし、養育に力を労し、なお不幸にして産を破るよりは、むしろ自然に繁茂したものをもって、蛾蛆の論なく繭糸を製造して業に安住するにはかなわないであろう。

If one establishes silkworm rooms, selects open and accessible land for mulberry cultivation, spares no expense on fertilizer, endeavors in cultivation, and applies great care in raising silkworms, then there would be no great difference from other regions that produce silkworm eggs

They say that rather than spending money on fertilizer to produce egg seeds, laboring in cultivation, and still risking financial ruin through misfortune, it would be better to use naturally flourishing mulberry to manufacture cocoon silk without concern for the moth-maggot debate and find security in this occupation.
