深草隠士
元政法師
私は一日先に立って池上へ行き、心静かに法文などを尋ね、たいそう夜が更けて書院である所に臥した。夜が静かで心が澄んで、しばらく眠れないので枕を支えて詠んだ：
人世少智音追師斯再尋
今宵池上月依𦾔照天心
（人の世は智慧少なく師の音を追い、ここに再び尋ね求める。今宵池上の月は草に依って天心を照らす）
その朝早く起きて遥かに御骨堂を拝んだ。肉筆の御墨もこの内にある。この墨のある所は我が生身が常にあると思えと仰せられた。まことに尊い。

Genshō Hōshi
I went ahead to Ikegami one day earlier, quietly studied Buddhist texts, and when it became very late, I lay down in a place called the study hall. The night was quiet and my heart was clear, and since I could not sleep for a while, I propped up my pillow and composed:
In this world of little wisdom, pursuing the master's voice, I seek again
Tonight at Ikegami, the moon shines on the heavens through the grass
That morning I rose early and worshipped the distant Bone Hall from afar. The master's own calligraphy is also kept within. He said to think that where this ink exists, my living body is always present. How truly sacred this is.
