本草綱目出す
　　　邪蒿　一種　　くじらくさ

現代語訳

きじん蘭　灌園之説による
芙蓉蘭　　とうぱんや

芙蓉蘭はその実を
瓜のように熟し、その莢が裂けて綿を
出すので唐半婆（とうはんや）奶と呼ぶ。和
品の半婆奶とは異なるものである。

両種　辛卯年九月
下旬十六日　巣丘

英語訳

Kijin-ran (Elegant Orchid) - According to the "Kan'en no setsu" (Garden Theory)
Fuyō-ran (Hibiscus Orchid) - Tōpanya

The Fuyō-ran produces fruit
that ripens like a melon, and when the pods split open, cotton emerges.
Therefore it is called Tōhanya-nai. This differs from
the Japanese variety of hanya-nai.
