仙人杖草《割注：キクアザミ｜ヤマ人ノツエクサ》
甲午年八月二日、庭中にて枝を折り取って実物通りに写生した。

[Marginal note: *Aki-no-nogeshi* [Autumn Lettuce, *Lactuca indica*]. *Kiku-azami* bears purple flowers and more closely resembles a thistle, and is therefore a separate species.]
