現代語訳

**野瞿麦（やくばく）の花** 〔ノナデシコ〕
　この植物は、『万葉集』秋の七種を詠んだ歌に詠まれている瞿麦（なでしこ）がこれである。

**馬棘（うまはぎ）** 　『救荒本草』に出典あり。

**草姫萩（くさひめはぎ）** 　草姫萩は同じ読み方を持つ別名である。〔双心的〕

**Wild Dianthus (野瞿麦, Yakubaku) Flower** [Nona-deshiko / Wild Pink]
　This plant is the very "Kujakubaku" (Dianthus) that is sung about in the poem listing the seven autumn flowers in the *Man'yōshū*.

**Umahagi (馬棘)** — Source: *Jiuhuang Bencao* (救荒本草 / Rescue from Famine Materia Medica).

**Kusa-himehagi (草姫萩)** [Grass Hime-hagi] — "Kusa-himehagi" and "Sō-himehagi" are alternate names sharing the same reading. [Sōshinteki]
