『巻懐食鏡』に曰く：
白小豆があり、和名を「しろあずき」という。民間でこれを「しろささげ」と称するのは誤りである。二種類あり、一種はつるが長く、もう一種はつるが短い。倭名に「蟹目（かにのめ）」とあるのはこれを指すのだろうか。

『和名類聚抄』に云う：
小豆（あかあずき） 本草注に云う「赤小豆」、和名「阿加安豆木（あかあずき）」。
崔禹錫の『食経』に云う「黒小豆・紫小豆・黄小豆・緑小豆はみな同類である」。
蘇敬の本草に云う「腐婢（あずきのはな）」、和名「阿豆岐乃波衣（あずきのはえ）」。
これは花の名である。

*Kankaiʼshokkyō* (巻懐食鏡) states:
There exists a white small bean (白小豆), Japanese name "shiro-azuki." It is incorrect for the common people to call this "shiro-sasage." There are two varieties: one with long vines and one with short vines. The Japanese name "kani no me" (crab's eye) likely refers to this plant.

*Wamyō Ruijushō* (和名類聚抄) states:
"Small bean" (aka-azuki): The annotation in the *Honzō* (Materia Medica) calls it "Red Small Bean" (赤小豆), with Japanese name *Aka-azuki* (阿加安豆木).
Cui Yushi's *Shokukyō* (食経) states: "Black small bean, purple small bean, yellow small bean, and green small bean are all of the same type."
Su Jing's *Honzō* states: "*Fubi* (腐婢; azuki bean flower)," Japanese name *Azuki no Hae* (阿豆岐乃波衣).
This is the name of the flower.

There are three things referred to as "*fubi*": one is the flower of the kudzu vine (*Pueraria lobata*), one is this adzuki bean flower, and the third is a small tree found by the seaside. (The appearance of this tree resembles the gardenia (*Gardenia jasminoides*); its stems and leaves are greatly curved, and its scent resembles a putrid odor.)
The name is the same, but the things referred to are different.
