【右丁】   母 同上  嘉内   母 堀氏の女  半右衛門長昌《初めは半之丞、隠居後は学甫》   母 同上   妻 渡部半之丞某の女(越後村上御家中)《宝永二酉年十二月二十五日没、法名・心月妙円信女、導師・無量山長命寺、葬所・大窪山》  一 正保四亥年三月、親の願いの通り江戸表へ罷り登り、初めての御目見えを仕った事。  一 万治元戌年三月、親が勤番のため江戸表へ 【左丁】   罷り登る節、願いの上、一同罷り登ったところ、親の病気につき、私への組の差し引きを仕るよう仰せ付けられ、親が病死仕った節、杉田五郎兵衛を以て跡式、御相違なく仰せ付けらるべく候間、案堵して罷り下るよう、有り難き御意を成し下された事。  一 同年十月、跡式千七百石のうち千五百石を嫡子半兵衛に下し置かれ、寄合組を仰せ付けられ、二百石は弟勘兵衛に御割り分け下し置かれた事。  一 同月、半右衛門と改名仕りたい旨、願いに任せられた事。  一 同二子年二月、物頭を仰せ付けられた事。

[Right folio]   Mother: same as above  Kanai   Mother: a woman of the Hori clan  Hanemon Nagamasa 《Initially called Hannojō; after retirement, known as Gakuho》   Mother: same as above   Wife: daughter of Watanabe Hannojō (a certain person), a retainer of the Murakami domain in Echigo Province 《Died on the 25th day of the 12th month of Hōei 2 (Year of the Rooster); posthumous Buddhist name: Shingetsu Myōen Shinnyodōshi; memorial service conducted at Muryōzan Chōmeiji Temple; burial place: Ōkuboyama》  One entry: In the third month of Jōhō 4 (Year of the Boar), in accordance with his father's petition, he traveled to Edo and had his first formal audience (*o-mie*).  One entry: In the third month of Manju 1 (Year of the Dog), when his father was traveling to Edo for his guard duty (*kinban*), [Left folio]   he also traveled there together upon submitting a petition. However, as his father had fallen ill, he was ordered to manage the affairs of his father's unit (*kumi*) in his stead. When his father subsequently died, word was conveyed through Sugita Gorōbei that the succession to the family estate (*atoshiki*) would be granted without question, and he was graciously instructed to return home in peace of mind—a most welcome pronouncement.  One entry: In the tenth month of the same year, out of the inherited estate of 1,700 *koku*, 1,500 *koku* was granted to the heir Hanbei and he was assigned to the *yoriai-gumi* (assembly unit). The remaining 200 *koku* was apportioned and granted to his younger brother Kanbei.  One entry: In the same month, his petition to change his name to Hanemon was granted.  One entry: In the second month of the following second year (Year of the Rat), he was appointed to the post of *monogashira* (unit commander).
