Item: In the 9th month of the same year, he turned out for the oi-torikari (a large-scale ceremonial hunt), traveled to Hongōhara, lodged in camp for one night, and received a portion of the game as a reward.
Note: In addition to the above, he also turned out four times for horse-breaking exercises and combined-unit drills (gōtai-keiko), and on one of those occasions received a portion of the game as a reward.
Item: In the 10th month of the same year, with regard to the said oi-torikari, it was noted that the ranks of foot soldiers and others assembled well and operations proceeded without any hindrance, and that the men had been diligently engaging in combined-unit drills beforehand — this being the sentiment of the lord. The entire company was accordingly praised and commended.
Note: Thereafter, commendations were received on every such occasion.
