一、同七年（卯年）四月、御下向の御供として、立ち帰りのため罷り登った。
一、同年八月、追鳥狩に罷り出て、獲物を拝領した。
ただし、この後も二度罷り出た。
一、同年十二月、当追鳥狩の手始めにあたり、

一、同九年（巳年）十月、不時の御参勤につき、御供として勤番のため罷り登り、翌年（午年）四月に罷り下った。
一、同十年（午年）九月、「源左衛門」と改名したい旨、願いの通りお許しになった。
一、同月、弓術が特に上達したとして、御褒美として綿一把を下し置かれた。

- In the third month of Kansei 4 (Year of the Rat), he traveled up to Edo to accompany the lord on the sankin (alternate attendance journey), serving as an escort for the return trip.
- In the ninth month of Kansei 5 (Year of the Ox), during the falcon hunt (o-toritogari), he went out to the o-tachiba marsh (the lord's designated observation/hunting post).
- In the fourth month of Kansei 7 (Year of the Rabbit), he traveled up to Edo to accompany the lord on the return journey from the domain.
- In the eighth month of the same year, he went out to participate in the falcon hunt and was granted a portion of the catch as a reward.
Note: He participated on two further occasions after this.

the formation order, marching in step, and advance and retreat movements were all carried out without hindrance, and it was recognized by the lord that he had also devoted himself diligently to interior training (internal practice drills). Accordingly, the entire unit received commendation from the lord.
Note: He continued to receive commendations on every subsequent occasion.
- In the tenth month of Kansei 9 (Year of the Snake), on the occasion of an unscheduled sankin (emergency alternate attendance), he traveled up to Edo as an escort and for garrison duty, returning in the fourth month of the following year (Year of the Horse).
- In the ninth month of Kansei 10 (Year of the Horse), his wish to change his name to "Genzaemon" was granted.
- In the same month, as he had shown particularly notable improvement in archery (kyūjutsu), he was rewarded with one bundle of cotton (wata hitotaba) as a prize.
