申達候段如何可有之候間信牌不持渡候はゝ毎々通
手当仕候様被仰聞候趣承知仕候今度之船は咬𠺕
吧出しに而信牌之儀伝不承趣答申由委細は十二日
以飛札申上候其節筆談書付をも差上候追而御
下知可有御座と相待居申候由取繕可被申達置候

現代語訳
御打払いを行わないわけにはいかないという旨を仰せ聞かされ、御書付一通をお渡しいただいたので、それを指し越して相達しました。右の御書付の六ヶ条の趣旨に相違なければ、貴殿はその通りに書付を差し出すようにと仰せ付けられましたが、果たしてこの趣旨に相違ないかどうかの件は判断しがたく存じられるので、一応この元へ申し越し、相違なければこの元から指図次第書付を差し上げましょう。そうでなければ、この元で十分に調べて書付を送るようにと申し越すべき旨で、御書付を受け取って指し越された由、その意を得ました。すなわち右の御書付への御答えの趣旨を別紙の書付で送りますので、貴殿は外記殿へ持参して差し上げてください。
一、右の御答えの趣旨を外記殿へ申し達する件でありますが、丹波守殿へは全く申し達しない段はいかがなものでしょうか。信牌を持ち渡さなければ毎々の通り手当てをするようにと仰せ聞かされた趣旨を承知いたしました。今度の船は咬𠺕吧（ガルーパ）出身で、信牌の件については伝え承らない趣旨で答え申した由、委細は十二日に飛札で申し上げ、その節筆談の書付をも差し上げました。追って御下知があるものと相待っている由を取り繕って申し達しておいてください。
一、近ごろの書状で申し越されました、去る三日に御歩行目付衆両人から手紙で唐船漂着の件について尋ねに来た件、これもまた当元へ申し越し、追って書付を差し出すべき由を申し置かれた由、その意を得ました。すなわち右の手紙への答書をも別紙で調えて送りますので、両人衆へ相達してください。恐惶謹言

It was conveyed that expulsion measures must be carried out, and since one official document was handed over and sent, we have communicated accordingly. If there is no discrepancy with the six articles mentioned in the said document, you were instructed to submit a written statement accordingly. However, since it is difficult to determine whether there is truly no discrepancy with this content, we should first report to headquarters here, and if there is no discrepancy, we will submit the document according to instructions from here. Otherwise, we should thoroughly investigate here and send the document. Understanding this, the official document was received and sent. Therefore, we are sending the response to the said official document in a separate written statement, which you should take to Lord Gaiki and present.
Regarding communicating the content of the above response to Lord Gaiki, how would it be if nothing is communicated to Lord Tamba-no-kami? We understand the instruction that if credentials are not brought, the usual measures should be taken. The current ship is from Garoupa, and they responded that they have not received information about the credentials. Details were reported by express message on the 12th, and written conversation records were also submitted at that time. Please arrange to report that we are waiting for further instructions.
Regarding what was mentioned in a recent letter about two walking inspectors inquiring by letter about the drifting Chinese ship on the 3rd - this was also reported to our headquarters, and it was stated that a written report would be submitted later. Understanding this, we have also prepared a response letter in a separate document, so please communicate this to both officials. With utmost respect and humble words.
