頳桐（テイトウ｜タウギリ）《本草綱目桐集解》
　　　毒がある。南国の産物で寒さを恐れる。春にその木を切って植えれば、すぐに根付く。葉は桐に似ているが、皺があり、厚く丸みを帯びており、縁にギザギザがある。夏に枝頭で枝分かれし、五弁の朱赤色の花を開き、長い雄しべを出す。秋になって収まる。

衛矛（エイボウ｜ニシキギ）《本草綱目》
　　　軽い毒がある。山中に生える。春に新しい枝を生じ、四面に矢の羽根のようなものがある。葉は対生し、秋になると紅色になり、すぐに枯れ落ちる。夏に葉の間に黄緑色の小花を開き、実を結ぶ。秋後に裂開する。赤色である。この実は毒性が強い。小児は注意すべきである。

Teitō (Erythrina species) 《Compendium of Materia Medica, Paulownia Collection Commentary》
　　　Has toxicity. It is a product of southern countries and fears cold. If its wood is cut and planted in spring, it immediately takes root. The leaves resemble paulownia but have wrinkles, are thick and round, with serrated edges. In summer, it branches at the branch tips, opens five-petaled vermillion-red flowers, and extends long stamens. It settles down when autumn arrives.

Eibō (Euonymus alatus, Burning Bush) 《Compendium of Materia Medica》
　　　Has mild toxicity. Grows in mountains. In spring, it produces new branches with arrow-feather-like projections on four sides. The leaves are opposite, turn red in autumn, and immediately wither and fall. In summer, it opens small yellow-green flowers between the leaves and produces fruit. After autumn, they split open. They are red in color. This fruit has deep toxicity. Small children should be cautious.
