楊櫨（ヨウロ｜タニウツギ）《本草綱目》
　　　毒がある。小さな木で、山中に多く見られる。葉は春に生え、細かい鋸歯があり、対生する。夏に葉の間に筒状の花を開く。淡紅色、また白色のものもある。後に莢を結ぶ。

蠟梅（ロウバイ｜ナンキンウメ）《本草綱目》
　　　毒がある。外国産である。木の高さは一丈余り（約3メートル以上）。葉は春に生え、尖って硬くざらざらしている。冬に深い黄色で九弁の花を開く。梅の花に似ている。中に深紫色で九つに分かれた小さな花弁がある。花の後、稀に莢を結び、中に黒い種子がある。この種子の毒は深刻である。誤ってこれを食べると、急激に嘔吐し、激しい下痢を起こす。

Yōro (Weigela hortensis, Garden Weigela) 《Compendium of Materia Medica》
　　　Has toxicity. A small tree commonly found in mountains. Leaves emerge in spring with fine serrated edges and grow in opposite pairs. In summer, it opens tubular flowers between the leaves. The flowers are light pink in color, and there are also white varieties. Later it produces pods.

Rōbai (Chimonanthus praecox, Wintersweet) 《Compendium of Materia Medica》
　　　Has toxicity. It is a product of foreign lands. The tree height exceeds one jō (approximately 3+ meters). Leaves emerge in spring, being pointed, hard, and rough to the touch. In winter, it opens deep yellow flowers with nine petals. It resembles plum blossoms. Inside, there are small petals of deep purple color divided into nine parts. After flowering, it rarely produces pods with black seeds inside. These seeds are deeply toxic. If mistakenly consumed, they cause sudden vomiting and severe diarrhea.
