Demon Bolete
The illustration recorded in Natural History Sketches.
The Mushroom History states it has a cap that is
extremely thick, with grayish texture and reddish-brown patterns
forming a net-like appearance, with a pale black underside.
The stem is reddish-brown and grows in
moist places in the mountains.
It also states there are varieties where both cap and stem are pure black,
with an uneven
surface texture.
Demon Bolete

thick and fleshy with a yellow-brown surface, the underside is
tea-colored with honeycomb-like pores,
and the stem is gray with deep yellow
wrinkled patterns resembling scales.
It grows in mountain forests,

among poisonous mushrooms.
