　庶物写生に載る図
　菌史に同書を引て
　舞（まい）たけに似て形／円（まる）
　く背（はい）に縮紋（しゆくもん）なく一本
　に簇生（そくせい）し茎（くき）皆（みな）横斜（なゝめ）
　にして其色浄白雪の
　如（こと）し故に名く煮は則
　灰色（くわいしよく）に変す秋の間山
　林の燥地に生す又青
　黄及ひ灰灰色のもの
　あり食ふにたへすといへり

現代語訳

雪茸（ゆきたけ）

　庶物写生に載る図。菌史に同書を引用して「舞茸に似て形は円く、背に縮紋がなく、一本に群生し、茎は皆横斜めになっている。その色は純白で雪のようである。故にこの名がある。煮ると灰色に変わる。秋の間、山林の乾燥地に生える。また青黄色および灰色のものもある。食用には適さない」という。

英語訳

Yuki-take (Snow mushroom)

Illustration recorded in Shobutsu Shasei. Kinshi quotes the same book, stating "resembles maitake with a round form, having no wrinkled patterns on the back, growing in clusters on a single stem, with all stems growing diagonally. Its color is pure white like snow, hence the name. When boiled, it turns gray. Grows in dry areas of mountain forests during autumn. There are also blue-yellow and gray varieties. Not suitable for eating."
