左膳直光 （寛政元年酉年〔1789年〕三月二十二日誕生）
実父は若森早人英雄の二男
若森源左衛門英政の養二男
妻は養父孫左衛門直清の娘
一 文化五年（辰年〔1808年〕）正月、蝦夷地御固めの節、大竹学左衛門の介添えとして唐太島（樺太）へ渡航したことにより、御目見えを仰せ付けられ、御流（盃）を頂戴した。

ただし、右の御用を勤め帰着した際、旅の装束のままで御目見えを仰せ付けられた。
一 同年十二月、介添えとして蝦夷地へ渡航し、海路・陸路の往来をはじめ、数日にわたり現地にて勤労に励んだことにより、御城にて御料理を下し置かれた。
一 同六年（巳年〔1809年〕）八月、蝦夷地御固めの御用のため、介添えとして唐太島へ渡航したことにより、御褒美として綿一把を下し置かれた。
一 同年十一月、学校什長を適切に勤め、かつ文武の芸に出精したことにより、御褒美として綿一把を下し置かれた。

Item: In the 1st month of Bunka 5 (Year of the Dragon [1808]), during the Ezo land defense deployment, he traveled to Karafuto (Sakhalin) Island as an assistant to Otake Gakuzaemon. For this, he was granted an audience with the lord and received the ceremonial cup (御流).

Note: Upon completing the above assignment and returning, he was granted an audience with the lord still dressed in his traveling clothes.
Item: In the 12th month of the same year, he traveled to Ezo as an assistant, engaging in sea and land travel, and worked diligently at the site for several days. For this, he was granted a formal meal at the castle.
Item: In the 8th month of Bunka 6 (Year of the Snake [1809]), for the purpose of the Ezo land defense duty, he traveled to Karafuto Island as an assistant. As a reward, he was granted one bundle of cotton.
Item: In the 11th month of the same year, for having served well as a jūchō (section head) at the domain school and applying himself diligently to both literary and martial arts, he was granted one bundle of cotton as a reward.
