一　九月、北庄の御城の改築に付き、御普請始めが行われた（旧の本城は今の外曲輪漆御門の内にて堀一周なり）。御本丸・二の丸は神君（家康）の御指図による御縄張り（御天守台に名井があり、これにより御本城の地と定められた）、三の丸その他の縄張りは吉田修理義寛に仰せ付けられた（漆御門並びの石垣は旧の石垣を用いると云う）。御普請総奉行は清水丹後孝正。この時、上意により諸大名より人夫を出し、石垣等を築かれた。

一　この年、結城の御菩提寺の内、天女山孝顕寺を北庄へ移し、山号・寺号共に同様にて（この折「賢」の字を用い、後に「顕」の字を用いた）一寺を御建立。その節、結城孝顕寺の住職舜国和尚を召し呼ばれ、開山と

- In the ninth month, reconstruction of Kitanoshō Castle began (the old main castle was within the current outer bailey's Urushi Gate area, surrounded by a moat). The main bailey and second bailey followed the layout directed by the Divine Lord [Ieyasu] (there was a famous well at the keep foundation, which determined this location for the main castle). The third bailey and other areas were assigned to Yoshida Shuri Yoshihiro (the stone walls near Urushi Gate reused the old stone walls). The construction supervisor was Shimizu Tango Takamasa. At this time, by supreme order, various daimyo provided laborers to build the stone walls and other structures.

- This year, Tennyōzan Kōkenji Temple from among the family temples in Yuki was relocated to Kitanoshō, with the same mountain name and temple name (at this time the character "ken" 賢 was used, later changed to "gen" 顕). When establishing this temple, Reverend Shunkoku, the head priest of Kōkenji Temple in Yuki, was summoned to serve as the founding abbot.
