漁夫の傳
昔し一人りの老夫あり漁猟を生計（なりわひ）となし其性
固より正直にして又 勤業者（かせぎもの）なりければ一日た
りとも怠ることなかりしも得る利は細く家族は
多く一人の妻に三人の子を養ひ兼ね家いと貧
しく危き露命を其日々々と漸くに繋ぎ留めた
る計（ばか）りなりき。斯く其身は貧しく暮せ共（ども）神に願（ねぎ）

漁師の話
昔、一人の老人がいて、漁業を生業としていた。その性格は
もともと正直で、また働き者であったので、一日たりとも
怠けることはなかったが、得られる利益は少なく、家族は
多く、一人の妻と三人の子供を養いきれず、家はとても貧しく、
危うい命をその日その日とかろうじて繋ぎ留めている
だけであった。このように身は貧しく暮らしていたが、神に祈り

The Tale of the Fisherman
Long ago, there was an old man who made his living by fishing. His nature
was fundamentally honest, and he was also a diligent worker, so he never
was idle for even a single day. However, the profit he gained was meager, and his family was
large - he could barely support one wife and three children. His house was very poor,
and he could only just manage to sustain his precarious life from day to day.
