第十六　無毒で良性の痘の徴候は、その形が円形で頂上がやや凹み、白色の液を含み、周囲が微かに紅色を帯び、全く臭気がないことである。これを真牛痘と名付ける。すなわち種痘用の痘苗とすべきものである。
