良性で安静に経過するという。また別の説では、牛
痘を種痘した後、もし再び天然痘にかかっても、その痘は
非常に軽症であるという。また、ある説では、種痘が十分に形を
なし、痘毒が全身に行き渡るときは、天然痘を防
ぐことは疑いないという。
第二十一 牛痘はその種痘した部位のみに発症し、全身に発症する
ことはないとする。しかしながら、生来持っている痘毒や胎
毒の深い者は、種痘後に頭部あるいは身体に発疹や
水疱瘡などを発症することがある。

としても、その自然な経過に任せ、別に薬剤を用いるべきでは
ない。これは種痘した痘の力によって幸い固有の毒

○According to one theory, when human smallpox and cowpox occur simultaneously, the course is very benign and peaceful. Another theory states that after cowpox inoculation, even if one contracts natural smallpox again, that pox will be very mild.
