致候由奇特ニ被 思召為御褒美銀子
弐枚被下置候事
一 同八申年正月数年神道致出精
江戸表江も度々罷越重キ伝授を得廣致
指南候ニ付三人扶持被下置無席ニ而

行ったことが奇特であると思し召され、御褒美として銀子
二枚を下賜された件
一 同八年正月、数年間神道に精進し、
江戸表にも度々赴いて重要な伝授を得て広く指南したことにより、三人扶持を下賜され、無席のまま
召し置かれる旨を仰せ出された件
一 同年十一月、学校において神道を教授するよう
仰せ付けられた件
一 寛政四年十二月、諸生をよく育成したことにより
二人扶持の御加増を下賜された件
一 同年九月、学校において和学指南を行うよう
仰せ付けられた件
一 同七年十一月、
恭定様への神道御相手を仰せ付けられた件
一 同八年三月、和学修行のため京都へ
派遣されることになり、金十七両を下賜され、同月出
立して京都へ上り、京都において非蔵人橋本肥後守殿、
京極宮御家令尾崎縫殿頭殿、その外種々の
松平参議様御隠居光世入道様をはじめとする和学
名家の方々へ入門し、和学・律令の御伝授を

conducted was considered remarkable, and as a reward he was granted
two pieces of silver.
- In the 1st month of the same 8th year [Tenmei 8, 1788], having devoted himself to Shinto for several years and frequently traveled to Edo to receive important transmissions and provide extensive instruction, he was granted a stipend of three persons and was retained without formal rank, as announced.
- In the 11th month of the same year, he was appointed to teach Shinto at the domain school.
- In the 12th month of Kansei 4 (1792), for successfully training various students, he was granted an additional stipend for two persons.
- In the 9th month of the same year, he was appointed to provide instruction in Japanese classical studies at the domain school.
- In the 11th month of Kansei 7 (1795), he was appointed as Shinto discussion partner to Lord Kyōtei.
- In the 3rd month of Kansei 8 (1796), he was sent to Kyoto to study Japanese classical learning, and was granted 17 ryō in gold. He departed in the same month and went up to Kyoto, where he became a disciple of various masters of Japanese classical learning, including the non-kuraryo Hashimoto Higo-no-kami, Ozaki Nuinodono-no-kami who served as steward to Prince Kyōgoku, and the retired Lord Kōsei Nyūdō who had been Matsudaira Sangi, receiving transmission in Japanese classical studies and legal codes.
