参上し、同月の御下向に御供として帰国いたしました
一 同五巳年二月、願いの通り隠居を
仰せ付けられ、数十年実体によく勤めた者なので
別段の訳をもって折々診察に出向くよう
仰せ付けられました
一 寛政三亥年十月十八日、七十八歳で
病死、法名は仙量院覚誉寿心居
士、葬所は同上

1. In May of the same year, he was granted a plain black haori jacket
for the御納戸掛 (personal attendant to the lord)
1. In July of the same year, Tanaka Bun'an was ordered to serve at the
Shiba residence until October, so he was ordered to extend his stay
and returned home in October of the same year
1. In April of the third year of the Rabbit, he went up to Edo for his return,
and in the same month accompanied the lord's return to the domain
1. In February of the fifth year of the Snake, he was granted retirement
as requested, and because he had served well in substance for several decades,
he was specially ordered to continue making occasional medical visits
1. On October 18th of the third year of Kansei (year of the Boar), he died
of illness at age seventy-eight. His posthumous Buddhist name was
Senryōin Kakuyo Jushin Koji, buried in the same place as above
