かつて寒郷陋巷（寒村の狭い路地）の婦女子が難産にかかり、往々にしてその身を失う者があることを憂いている。そこでこの篇を述べ、その横死する者を救おうと欲するのである。これもまた仁の道である。果たしてこのような人がいてこのような人を生むということを知れば、真に偶然ではないのである。

Therefore, I have written this treatise, wishing to save those who die untimely deaths. This too is the way of benevolence.
