然ル所昨日小山郷百姓権左衛門長四郎清兵衛久左衛門と
申もの共罷出御願申上候者此度 禁裏御庭ニ
新ニ御泉水出来仕候此節ゟ夏中ハ右御池ニ水
一はいたくへ候様ニ可仕旨此度御所御役人様ゟ被仰渡候
小山へ取候水之義ハ五分之所三分ハ御用水残る
弐分を田地養水ニ仕候賀茂ゟ去年之通ニ致候而ハ
是迄之通ニ而も御用水不足仕候ニ又々当年新ニ
御池出来仕候へハ殊之外難儀ニ御座候宜被 仰付
被下候様ニと願申候依之与惣兵衛申候ハ禁裏御用水
之義ハ甚おもき事故公儀ゟ土手ニ槌を被成被
置候而年々御修覆も有之其上右御用水之通り候
川筋ニ所々ニ制札被立置候賀茂社中にも御所之
義ハ御役所ゟも大切ニ致事ニ候得者其方共不及申
義也其方共去年ゟ此間迄も養水之義相願
候処今日ニ成候而右土井手水之義ハ打捨御用水
之義のミ相願候哉しからハ最早田地養水之義ハ
入不申御用水計之願ニ候哉左候ハヽ又可申渡筋有
之由申候所閉口致候故重々不届之者共候一事
両様之願申出御所◦風をふかしたふらかし候段甚以
不届候て段々呵申候所何分奉誤候然ハ先賀茂
御社中御差図ニ相従ひ可申候段得心いたし罷帰り候

ところが昨日、小山郷の百姓である権左衛門、長四郎、清兵衛、久左衛門という者たちが出頭して願い出たことには、「このたび禁裏御庭に新たに御泉水が造られました。この時から夏中は、その御池に水をたっぷりと溜めるようにするよう、このたび御所の御役人様から仰せ渡されました。小山へ取る水については、五分のうち三分は御用水、残る二分を田地の養水にしております。賀茂から去年通りにされては、これまで通りでも御用水が不足しているのに、さらに当年新たに御池ができれば、非常に困難でございます。よろしく仰せ付けてくださいますように」と願い出ました。これについて与惣兵衛が申すには、「禁裏御用水のことは非常に重大なことなので、公儀から土手に杭を打たれて置かれ、年々御修復もあり、その上この御用水の通る川筋の所々に制札が立て置かれています。賀茂社中でも御所のことは御役所からも大切にするよう言われていることなので、あなた方は申すまでもないことです。あなた方は去年からこの間まで養水のことを願い出ていたのに、今日になってその土井手水のことは放置して御用水のことのみを願い出るのですか。それならばもはや田地養水のことは必要なく、御用水だけの願いなのですか。そうであるならば、また申し渡すべき筋があります」と申したところ、返答に窮したので、「重々不届きな者どもです。一つのことを二様に願い出て、御所の威光を利用してだまそうとする段は、甚だもって不届きです」と段々叱ったところ、「何分お詫び申し上げます。それでは先ず賀茂御社中の御差図に従います」と得心して帰りました。これらの趣旨をお話し申し上げたく呼び寄せました。右の通りですので、なお又

However, yesterday, peasants from Koyama village named Gonzaemon, Chōshirō, Seibei, and Kyūzaemon came forward and petitioned as follows: "This time, a new ornamental pond has been constructed in the Imperial Palace garden. From now through the summer, we have been ordered by the palace officials to keep that pond filled with water. Regarding the water taken to Koyama, three parts out of five are for imperial use, and the remaining two parts are used for irrigating the rice fields.
