一、明日、保土は私用で出京するため、留守の間の御用向きは播磨介に頼んでおいた。なお、保覚へもこの段を頼んでおいた。保覚が留守であったため、内方（家人）へ申し入れて帰った。会所へもこの段を話しておいた。

一、今日、官位の小折紙を惣代の業久・保覚が日野弁殿へ持参したところ、長季の勘例が弱いため、書き改めて差し出すようにとのことであった。さらに、季脩について、従四位上の勘例が相当しないとのご指摘があった。保覚が申し上げたのは、新宮以下の社司の中で従四位上の勘例として五十二才以上より強いものはございません。非職には五十一才の例もございます。七家の社司には三十才から四十四・五才までの例がございますが、近来は七家は七家の例、新宮以下の社司は新宮以下の例、非職は非職の例として差し出しておりますので、右の通りでございます、と申し上げたところ、ご聴聞いただけました。
それならば、季脩の勘例はこの通りに置いておき、それ以外に社中で五十才未満で従四位上を申し上げた例をすべて書き連ねて差し上げるようにとのご指示があり、承知いたして退去した。これにより帰郷後、小寄合に出席したのは神主の業久・世顕・保覚らであった。保土は出京のため不参であった。右につき五十才未満の従四位上の例をすべて書き出すべきところ、保覚の了簡により、以下の八人を書き抜き、神主相談の上で一決した。

One: Today, the representatives Narikahisa and Hokaku brought the official rank petition (koorizami) to Lord Hino-Ben, where it was indicated that the precedent record (kanrei) for Nagasue was insufficient and should be rewritten and resubmitted. Furthermore, it was pointed out that the precedent record for Suenaga did not qualify for the Junior Fourth Rank, Upper Grade (Jushii-no-jō). Hokaku explained that among the shrine priests (shashi) from Shingū and below, there are no precedents stronger than fifty-two years of age for the Junior Fourth Rank, Upper Grade; for those without office (mushoku), there are precedents at fifty-one years of age; and among the seven-family shrine priests, there are precedents ranging from thirty to forty-four or forty-five years of age. However, in recent years, the seven families have submitted precedents according to the seven-family rules, the shrine priests from Shingū and below according to their own rules, and those without office according to their own rules, which is why the records stand as they are. This explanation was accepted and heard.
In that case, it was directed that the precedent record for Suenaga be left as it stands, and that all remaining examples within the shrine community of persons who had been recommended for the Junior Fourth Rank, Upper Grade while under the age of fifty be written out and submitted. This was acknowledged, and he withdrew. Upon returning home, those who attended the small assembly (ko-yoriai) were the head priests Narikahisa, Yoriak, and Hokaku. Yasutsu did not attend due to his departure from the capital. Regarding the matter, while all precedents of the Junior Fourth Rank, Upper Grade for those under fifty should be written out, at Hokaku's discretion the following eight persons were selected, and after consultation among the head priests, a decision was reached.
