の条を訳出して開巻とす次に紙の如きは此
方の製式絶妙にして種々の異品あり百般の
用に供するに足れりといへ共洋式に仿ひて
鉛製の活字を刷印し或は手銃の弾薬包を造
るか如きに至りては此方の紙却て不適当な
るを覚ゆ且彼邦にては綿并に麻を以て紙の
原料（たね）とするかゆゑに尺に満たざるの糸屑（いとくづ）半
寸に足らさるの布片（ぬのぎれ）も悉く聚めて以て紙を
製す窃に按するに年々古衣の破片（ぼろ）復た民間
の用を作すに堪へず一たび紙屑籠に埋もれ
て終には塵塚の底に腐壊するもの亦夥しか
るへし近日賈人これを聚めて至賎の価を以
て外国へ輸出す是れ皆 還魂（すきがへ）して紙となすべ
きものなり若し邦内に於て綿布を化して紙
を製するの術開くるに至らば暴殄の天物夥
く民生の用をなし其功徳七級の浮屠を造る
