一／鷸（しぎ） 毒（どく）なし虚（きよ）をおきない人（ひと）をあたゝむる功（こう）あり痘中（とうちう）
虚寒（きよかん）の症候（しやうこう）あるものは薄味噌汁（うすみそしる）に糯粢（もち）と
酒（さけ）すこし加（くわ）へてよく煮熟（にじゆく）して乳婦（うば）小児（せうに）ともに
あたふべし胃寒（いかん）をのぞきさるなり痘後（とうご）十日の
後（のち）は百日／禁（きん）すべし若（もし）あやまりて用（もち）ゆれば余毒（よどく）

一 鷸（シギ） 毒はない。虚を補い人を温める効果がある。痘瘡中に
虚寒の症状があるものには、薄味噌汁に餅と
酒を少し加えてよく煮込んで乳母・小児ともに
与えるべきである。胃寒を除去するのである。痘後十日の
後は百日間禁ずるべきである。もし誤って用いれば余毒
を発する。
一 鶏（ニワトリ） 毒はない。この鳥はよく虚を補うといっても、また血を
渋らせる効果がある。故に禁じて用いてはならない。また痘瘡の
色が白くて病状が上がらないものに鶏冠血を取って
酒に混ぜて温めて用いる方法がある。また煎薬の中に

加えて用いるのもよい。よく紅色をつけるものである。また
鶏卵は毒がない。心気を静め五臓を安らかにし、
邪熱を去るといっても、もし痘後に炒米・干菓子
の類と共に食べれば後に必ず眼疾を発するという
説がある。故に痘中・痘後にみだりに与えてはならない。
一 鳧（カモ） 毒はない。中を補い胃の気を益し、食を消化し
瘡癤を治す。水気を治療するといっても痘瘡中は
用いてはならない。痘後・平日に加えるものは与えてもよい。妨げはない。
一 鳩（ハト） 毒はない。この鳥はよく諸薬の毒を解する。また悪瘡を
治すといっても痘中は与えてはならない。痘後三十日の

chicken eggs are non-toxic. They calm heart qi, pacify the five organs, and
dispel pathogenic heat, but if eaten together with parched rice and dried sweets
after smallpox, they will inevitably cause eye diseases later, according to one
theory. Therefore, they should not be given carelessly during or after smallpox.
- Duck Non-toxic. It supplements the center, benefits stomach qi, aids digestion, and
treats sores and boils. Although it treats fluid retention, it should not be used
during smallpox. It may be given as an addition after smallpox or on normal days. There is no harm.
- Dove Non-toxic. This bird effectively neutralizes the toxins of various medicines. It also treats
