一夜塚（ひとよつか）　同所 西南（にしみなみ）の畑（はたけ）の中（なか）にあり此所（このところ）を前野（まへの）と号（がう）す相伝（あひつた）ふ小田原（をだはら）
　北条家（ほうでうけ）の時（とき）千葉家（ちばけ）の城（しろ）を攻落（せめおと）さんとして寄手（よせて）の軍兵（ぐんびやう）此地（このち）に
　於（おい）て一夜（　や）の間（あいだ）に炮坐（いしびやたい）を築（きつ）き城（しろ）へ向（む）けて此（この）塚上（ちようしやう）より大発炮を
　放（はな）ち竟（つひ）に城兵（じやうひやう）を焼討（やきうち）にせしといふ
西台山（さいたいさん）円福寺（えんふくじ）　熊野権現宮（くまのごんげんのみや）より二丁ばかり西南（にしみなみ）の方（かた）西台村（にしたいむら）にあり
　曹洞派（そうとうは）の禅刹（ぜんせつ）にして芝愛宕下（しばあたごした）の青松寺（せいしやうじ）に属（ぞく）す本尊（ほんそん）は拈華（ねんげ）の

**一夜塚**　同所、西南の畑の中にある。この場所を「前野」と号する。伝えによれば、小田原の北条家の時代に、千葉家の城を攻め落とそうとして、攻め寄せた軍兵がこの地において一夜のうちに砲座（石火矢台）を築き、城に向けてこの塚の上から大砲を放ち、ついには城兵を焼き討ちにしたという。

**西台山円福寺**　熊野権現宮より二丁ほど西南の方、西台村にある。曹洞派の禅寺であり、芝愛宕下の青松寺に属する。本尊は拈華の釈迦如来座像で、高さ一尺四、五寸あり、行基菩薩の作である。あるいは、お首（頭部）だけが行基の作であり、全体（胴体以下）は後代の人の作であるともいう。太田道灌入道の開創であり、越生の龍穏寺第五世・雲岡俊徳和尚が開山である。《割書：雲岡が開基した十八か寺のうちの一つである。》当寺はかつて河越にあった頃は龍穏寺の末寺であったという。現在、寺領二十石を付与されている。当寺に永正年間の古文書がある。その文は次のとおりである。

**Hitoyo-zuka (One-Night Mound)**　Located in the fields to the southwest of the same area. This place is called "Maeno." According to tradition, during the time of the Hōjō clan of Odawara, when their forces were attempting to seize the castle of the Chiba clan, the attacking soldiers constructed a gun emplacement (artillery platform) at this site in a single night, fired a great cannon from atop this mound toward the castle, and ultimately set the castle garrison ablaze in a fire attack.

**Saitaisan Enpukuji**　Located approximately two chō to the southwest of Kumano Gongen Shrine, in Nishidai village. It is a Zen temple of the Sōtō school, affiliated with Seishōji temple at the foot of Atago hill in Shiba. The principal image is a seated statue of Shaka Nyorai (Śākyamuni Buddha) in the "Nenge" (Flower-Holding) pose, measuring one shaku four or five sun in height, and is said to be the work of the monk Gyōki Bosatsu. Some say, however, that only the head was made by Gyōki, while the rest of the body is the work of a later craftsman. The temple was founded by Ōta Dōkan, the lay monk, and its first abbot (kaisan) was the Venerable Unkō Shuntoku, the fifth generation head of Ryūonji temple in Ogose. 《Marginal note: This is one of eighteen temples founded by Unkō.》 It is said that when this temple was formerly located in Kawagoe, it was a sub-temple of Ryūonji. At present, it is endowed with a temple stipend of twenty koku of rice. The temple possesses an old document from the Eishō era. Its text reads as follows:

　　　Are hereby donated in perpetuity to Enpukuji for the sake of the late Sōan-kō. Furthermore, previously,
　　　one plot of fields on the side of the temple, formerly held since the time of Kageyū, is also donated.
　　　Together these constitute a direct tax assessment of one [unit]. This letter of donation is hereby set forth for the record.
