大日本国武州崎西の郡岩築荘、金鳳山平林禅寺。干戈の後、粥蕐（かゆか）を催す無く、鯨（げい）茲（ここ）に。吾が山の檀越、参州旙頭郡吉良の徤産（けんさん）、源家の氏族大河内、法林宗無為祥菴寿参、同雄嶽宗英居士、孝心あり。所感じて、冶鐘を命じ鐘を売り（鋳り）、鳳山に寄与す。その功徳は山を堆（つ）み、その孝心は岳を積む。余慶なおもって家門の栄えを敷くこと幾万年なり。 祝銘に曰く、
耳根清浄にして鮮（あきら）か、百八を提ぐ。諸眠を嗚吼すれば則ち地を轟かし、橦（しゅ）を撃てば則ち天を動かす。曙光は楼閣の外に明らかに、月は寺門の前に照らす。檀越は孤ならず、徳は兒孫億兆年に及ぶ。

**【後補銘文（再鋳に際して追記）】**
寺はこの同州（武州）の岩築城の西に在り。寛文の初め（1661年頃）、地をここに移す。事の具（つぶさ）には寺記に載す。予（われ）、延宝甲寅（1674年）の夏、来たりて院事を司ること四年。丙辰（1676年）、堂外わずかな火災があり、鐘楼はやがて焼け落ち、声は撞くに随って響くも、その響きはすでに欠けるところあり。且暮（しかも）、天和壬戌（1682年）の冬に至って、遂に冶工（鋳物師）に命じて再び鋳造させ、範囲・尺寸ともに旧制にすべて倣う。その銘辞（銘文の文言）に至っては、容易に改めず、謹んで重ねてここに刻む。願わくは、これを縁として初度の願輪に乗じ、永く寺門中興の基業を保たんことを祝す。

### Bell Inscription (Bonsho Inscription)
**[Original Inscription]**
In the domain of Musashi Province (武州), Sakinishi District, Iwatsuki Estate, at Kinpōzan Heirin Zen Temple: After the turmoil of war, there was no one to sound the morning gruel bell, and the temple's great bell (lit. "whale") fell silent. The principal lay patron of our mountain, a scion of the Kira clan of Hatō District, Mikawa Province (参州)—a man of upright character from the Genkōchi lineage of the Minamoto clan—Hōrin Sōmuisan Shōan Jussō (法林宗無為祥菴寿参) and Yūgaku Sōei Koji (雄嶽宗英居士), moved by filial devotion, commissioned the casting of this bell and donated it to Kinpōzan. His merit piles high as a mountain; his filial piety accumulates lofty as a peak. May the blessings spread, and may the glory of his family endure for tens of thousands of years. The celebratory inscription reads:
*The sense of hearing becomes pure and clear—one hundred and eight [sins] are lifted. When it roars, the earth resounds; when the mallet strikes, the heavens are moved. The morning light shines bright beyond the tower; the moon illuminates the temple gate. The patron's virtue shall not stand alone—may it reach the children and grandchildren for hundreds of billions of years.*
Written on the thirteenth day of the ninth month, Genwa 9 (元和九年, 1623), year of Mizunoto-I (癸亥)

**[Supplementary Inscription (Added at the Time of Recasting)]**
The temple was originally located to the west of Iwatsuki Castle in the same province (Musashi). At the beginning of the Kanbun era (c. 1661), it was relocated to its present site. Details of these events are fully recorded in the temple's own records. I came to oversee the affairs of this temple in the summer of Enpō Kinoe-Tora (延宝甲寅, 1674), and after four years, in the year Hinoe-Tatsu (丙辰, 1676), a small fire broke out outside the main hall, and the bell tower was soon destroyed by flames. The bell's sound when struck still carried, but its resonance was already damaged. Moreover, in the winter of Ten'na Mizunoe-Inu (天和壬戌, 1682), I finally commissioned a founder to recast the bell, with the dimensions and specifications entirely following the old design. As for the wording of the inscription, it was not lightly altered; rather, it is here respectfully re-engraved. It is my prayer that this act may align with the initial vow and aspiration, and that it may forever preserve the foundations of this temple's restoration and prosperity.
