一 天明七年（未年）正月、印西派弓術指南方の件について、森山与五郎より伝授を受けて指南することとなった。
一 同年七月、門弟たちの射芸を御上覧に供したところ、その方並びに弟子中の射芸が良好であるとのお言葉を賜った。
一 同八年（申年）正月、射芸に心を込めて大勢の弟子を指南し、先だって大矢数（連続射的）も良好に行ったことから、特に思し召しにより御褒美として銀子五枚を下賜された。
一 同年十一月、武学寮の御普請が完成したことにつき

二男以下への射芸指南を命じられた。
一 寛政元年（酉年）十月、射芸指南を小川徳之助へ譲った。
一 同四年（子年）二月、家督として御知行六百石を相違なく下賜され、外様組付を命じられて三番組に入り、御城番を勤めることとなった。
一 同年九月、物頭を命じられた。
一 同年十二月、左近右衛門と改名したい旨を願い出て許可された。
一 同五年（丑年）九月、追鳥狩の節に出仕した。

1. In the 7th month of the same year, when his disciples' archery skills were viewed by the lord, it was declared that both he and his students performed excellently in archery.
1. In the 1st month of Tenmei 8th year (Year of the Monkey), for dedicating himself to archery and instructing many disciples, and for performing well in the recent large-scale target practice, he was specially favored and awarded five silver coins as a reward.
