The Three Medicines of Rakuzendō — Made by Kishida Ginkō — Respectfully compounded HOYŌGAN ("Nourishing Pills") An excellent medicine that replenishes vital energy and stamina and nourishes one's health. It is good for those of a naturally weak constitution, and for those whose recovery after illness or after childbirth is slow. It works wonderfully for women's "chi-no-michi" (gynecological complaints connected with menstruation and childbirth). If taken regularly as a daily tonic, you are guaranteed to remain free of illness your whole life and to enjoy long life. CHINRYŪIN ("Calming Acid Reflux") A marvelous remedy for ryūin (indigestion with acid regurgitation). It opens up congestion at the pit of the stomach, strengthens the spleen and stomach (the digestive organs), promotes the digestion of food, regulates the belly, and has the effect of increasing one's vigor. It is especially effective when food has no taste, when one constantly feels queasy and oppressed in the chest, and when one from time to time vomits bitter fluid. ONTSŪGAN ("Gentle Laxative Pills") A medicine for the bowels. When the chest feels blocked, the belly is distended, the appetite fails, and one feels somehow unwell, taking this medicine will at once purge the poison, draw down the flush of blood to the head, cleanse the inside of the belly, dispel melancholy, and cool fever — as miraculously as if by divine power.
