住山田、後藤立郎川、池田諸氏が立会い
会合を開き酒を酌み交わし、話を聞いて大いに興味深く思い、夜に入って散会した
一身の命が助かったことを幸いに思う《出国時十数名、今はわずかに四人が生存》過去のことを思えば魂も消え入りそうだ《絶食が数旬続く、死者三人》
初めて絶海の波涛の険しさを知った《船が転覆すること数回》深く将軍の雨露の恩を感じる《客人たちは皆、将軍と呼んでいる》
百回の鞭打ちで兵士たちが血を流すのを憐れむ《老人も幼児も命令一下で人々がそれぞれ柳の枝で打たれる》万の灯火が書物のように新婚を照らす《その家族の祝事に遭遇し、煌々と輝いて実に壮観》
遠方の異なる風俗についてはまだ多く記憶しているが、言葉の困難さは耐え難い《通訳に頼って宿泊し食事をとり、辛苦を味わう》
同国人に会う
苦労して小舟を修理し東へ向かう《船は南に向かい、鳥に覆われた場所》ついに同胞に出会い心の内を通わせる《一目で同郷と分かる》
九原で再会を期して別れを告げる《別れの際の切ない気持ち》孤島で余生を託すことを願う《諸島を巡り歩く》
