公方様の御機嫌伺いのため、御大老・御老中・御側御用人へ御回勤した。
一 十二月十二日 右同様につき、御機嫌伺いのため御登城した。
一 同日夜 御機嫌伺いのため、御用番小笠原佐渡守長重殿へ御使者として御留守居堀十兵衛久律を指し出した。その際、今度御屋敷が類焼したことにより、東叡山火の御番を御免になった段を用人を通じて申し聞かされた。
ただし右の仰せ出された趣旨は、御留守居が呼び出されて申し渡される筈であったが、幸い御使者を遣わされたので、ついでに相達した旨を用人が申し聞かせた。
一 同月十三日 火の御番御免につき御礼のため御登城し、御老中に謁見した。御退出の際、御大老・御老中・御側御用人へ御回勤した。
一 同日 御縁中の御機嫌伺いのため御登城し、御老中に謁見した。
一 同日 右同様につき、御機嫌伺いのため御用番・御側御用人へ御使者を指し出した。

[He] made ceremonial visits to the Great Elder, Senior Councilors, and Chamberlains to inquire after the Shogun's health.
December 12th: For the same reason, [he] went to the castle to inquire after [the Shogun's] health.
Same day, evening: To inquire after [the Shogun's] health, deputy Hori Jūbei Kyūritsu was sent as messenger to Duty Councilor Ogasawara Sado-no-kami Nagashige. On that occasion, it was communicated through a retainer that due to the recent fire damage to the residence, [he] was exempted from fire guard duty at Mt. Tōei.
However, regarding this announcement, while the deputy was supposed to be summoned and informed directly, since a messenger was fortunately being sent anyway, it was conveyed as additional business, as the retainer explained.
December 13th: [He] went to the castle to express gratitude for the exemption from fire guard duty, had an audience with the Senior Councilors, and upon withdrawal made ceremonial visits to the Great Elder, Senior Councilors, and Chamberlains.
Same day: For condolences regarding relatives, [he] went to the castle to inquire after [the Shogun's] health and had an audience with the Senior Councilors.
Same day: For the same reason, a messenger was sent to the Duty Councilor and Chamberlains to inquire after [the Shogun's] health.

December 14th: For the same reason, to inquire after [the Shogun's] health, deputy Matsubara Zensaemon Norinari was sent as messenger to present one set of cypress containers (inquiry from the 12th).
