監物儀御存知之通三年以前より相煩候処其
節之様子罷出可相勤病気ニ無御座候而難儀
之仕合存候去年よりハ気色も能候得共罷出
相勤申候儀
上江憚存候故拙者至末期養子之願可申上存念

御暇を仰せ出され、例の通り白銀・御袷を御拝領、右の御礼として御老中・
御側御用人中へ御廻勤した
ただし上使がお越しの節は御門の蹴込まで御出迎えした
一 五月十五日 御登城して御暇の御礼を仰せ上げ、例の通り御馬を御拝領した
御退出の際、御大老・御老中・御側御用人・若年寄中へ御廻勤した
一 同月十八日 御拝領の御馬を御老中戸田山城守忠昌殿より使者にて
率いて来させた
一 同月二十二日 浄光院において去る二十日夕方より今朝まで（二夜三日）

監物様の御病気の件につき、松平大膳太夫綱広殿へ藤掛采女永次殿、
西尾七兵衛殿を以って左の通り仰せ進めた
口上の覚
監物のこと、御存じの通り三年以前より煩っているところ、その
節の様子では出仕して相勤めることができる病気ではなく、難儀な
仕合いと存じております。去年よりは気色も良くなっておりますが、出仕して
相勤め申すことは
上へ憚ると存じますゆえ、私の末期に至り養子の願いを申し上げたく存じます

[The lord] was granted leave, and received white silver and summer robes as usual. As thanks for this, he made courtesy visits to the senior councilors and chamberlain attendants.
However, when the official envoy came, [the lord] went out to greet him as far as the gate's entrance.

Upon departure, he made courtesy visits to the grand elder, senior councilors, chamberlain attendants, and junior councilors.

Regarding Kenmotsu, as you know, he has been suffering from illness for three years. Given his condition at that time, it is not an illness that would allow him to serve at court, and it is a difficult situation. Although his condition has improved since last year, I believe that having him attend court and perform duties would be
presumptuous toward His Lordship, so I wish to submit a request for adoption at the end of my life.
