As he had served admirably as a study companion to Lady Shinshō-in, he was granted an increase of five *koku* and provisions for two persons.

Upon the passing of Lady Shinshō-in, he was appointed as personal guardian (*Okaidanmori*) to Lady Shōsen-in.

He was appointed to the role of *Onando* (keeper of the inner storehouse/chamberlain) for Lady Shōsen-in.
