蚕種を遠路取り寄せる時、懐へ入れたり風呂敷などへ
包んで取り寄せてはいけない。ただ箱の内、その外籠などへ入れ、上を
渋紙に包んで取り寄せるべきである。殊に天日の強い時にはなおさら注意
すべきである。付け加えて、種を火の側で広げてはいけない。とかく取り
扱いの時にも手を洗い、随分大切に扱うべきである。ただし種には
上中下がある。まず上種というのは地をしめ、冴えよくして色黒く

白い粉を吹き、また種が大粒で実入りよく、たとえ重なったといっても
蛾の働きにむらがないように重なり、種に油分があっていかように障害があっても
少しもこぼれないものを、本場の桑にて熟練者が養育した

重なり、或いは小粒にして赤色に見えるのは下場の桑にて育った

When obtaining silkworm eggs from distant places, do not place them in one's
bosom or wrap them in furoshiki cloth for transport. Simply place them inside boxes or other containers like baskets, wrap the top
in persimmon-tannin paper and transport them thus. Especially when the sun is strong, one must pay even more attention.
Additionally, do not spread the eggs near fire. In any case, when handling them, wash your hands and treat them with utmost care. However, eggs have
three grades: superior, medium, and inferior. First, superior eggs have firm adhesion, good clarity, and are black in color,

blow white powder, and the eggs are large-grained with good fullness. Even when layered,
the moths' activity shows no irregularity in the layering, the eggs contain oil, and no matter what obstacles occur,
they do not spill at all. These should be recognized as superior eggs
raised by experts using mulberry from prime locations. Also, even when well-adhered, if the eggs lack clarity and are irregularly
layered, or are small-grained and appear reddish, these are eggs raised
with mulberry from inferior locations. These should be known as medium grade. Also, those that are not well-adhered and have gaps
