夏 蚕（こ）の種としるべし尤春 蚕（ご）にも青（あをき）色あり是は
白粉（しろこ）をふき種小粒なるものなり其外 再出（さいで）多（おほ）くし
たる種を悦ぶものあり元来 再（さい）出のしたるとあらの多
く見ゆるはひくき温（あたゝか）なる家にて蚕尻（こしり）高く或は
上棚（うはたな）へ揚（あげ）暑（しよ）にあたりたる蚕（かいこ）に出るものなり惣而（さうして）村（むら）に
かさねたると種の冴（さへ）あしきは蚕（かいこ）を多（おほく）く養（かい）ちらし
人手間なく養育（かいそだて）たる種なり又水色にあまり
見事 過（すき）たるは遅（をそ）取の種なり《振り仮名：如＿レ此｜かくのことく》蚕（かいこ）のあしきも桑
不足なるも人手間不足なるも本場（ほんば）の桑にて育（そだち）たる

も遅取（をそとり）の種（たね）或はよき家あしき家の種も蚕をあたゝ
めたるも涼（すゞ）しく育（そだて）たるも皆（みな）それ〳〵に種にて正（たゞ）
しく見わけあるものなり是（これ）自然（しぜん）と見習（みなら）ふべし
右は記（しる）すに及（およ）ばざれども近年（きんねん）其元（そのもと）をたゞさずして種と
名（な）の付（つき）たるは中（あたる）ものと覚（おぼ）へ悪種（あくたね）商売（しやうばい）の類（るい）多（おほ）し

【右丁】
夏蚕の種と知るべきである。もっとも春蚕にも青い色があり、これは
白粉をふき種が小粒なものである。その外、再出を多く出し
た種を喜ぶ者がいるが、元来再出をしたものやあらの多く
見えるのは低く暖かな家にて蚕の尻を高くし、或いは
上棚へ上げ暑さにあたった蚕に出るものである。総じて不揃いに
重なったものと種の冴えの悪いのは蚕を多く飼い散らし、
人手が足りずに養育した種である。また水色にあまり
見事すぎるのは遅取りの種である。このように蚕が悪いのも桑が
不足なのも人手間が不足なのも本場の桑にて育った

ものも遅取りの種や良い家悪い家の種も蚕を暖か
くしたものも涼しく育てたものも皆それぞれに種にて正
しく見分けがあるものである。これは自然と見習うべきである。
右は記すに及ばないが、近年その元をたださずして種と
名の付いたものは当たるものと覚え、悪種商売の類が多い。
これは天命に恐れざるの理である。元来蚕を当てに
しない人は稀である。ただ諸人蚕を的にかけ身に不自由
の苦しみをして養育し上がりに残らず悪くなる
その嘆きその罪深からん事を考え心許ない種

have white powder and are small-grained eggs. Besides this, there are those who rejoice in eggs that produce many
re-emergences, but originally those that re-emerge and show many rough ones
appear in silkworms raised in low, warm houses where the silkworms' rear ends are raised high, or
placed on upper shelves and exposed to heat. Generally, those that pile
irregularly and eggs with poor clarity are from silkworms raised in large numbers scattered about,
with insufficient human labor for proper rearing. Also, those that are excessively
fine in light blue color are late-harvested eggs. Thus, whether the silkworms are poor, mulberry is
insufficient, or human labor is lacking, even those raised with mulberry from prime locations

or raised cool, all have their respective characteristics in the eggs for proper
identification. This should be learned naturally.
The above need not be recorded, but in recent years, without examining their origins, anything called "eggs"
is considered acceptable, and there are many engaged in the trade of inferior eggs.
This shows a lack of fear toward divine providence. Originally, there are few
people who do not depend on silkworms. However, all people stake everything on silkworms, enduring physical hardships
and privation in rearing them, only to have everything turn out badly in the end.
