の商売（しやうばい）すべからずしかれとも是迄は人々養育にまよひ
慥成理をしらさるゆへ上種と下種を養（かい）わける事
難成（なりかたく）陽気（やうき）不順（ふしゆん）なる事には差別（しやべつ）なく養（かい）はつす故（ゆへ）
悪種（あくたね）を求（もとめ）てもしらずして唯 陽気（やうき）の違（ちかひ）か又は我か手違
か或は種のあしきか何れともしらざる人多し最早（もはや）かくの
ことく養育（やういく）正（たゞ）しければ聊（いさゝか）種の上下わかり即時（そくじ）なる
べし若（もし）手前（てまひ）の間違（まちかひ）にて蚕をはづしたる時には
其文（そのあや）を委（くはし）く書記（かきしる）し置（をき）翌年（よくねん）又そのこゝろへにて
養（かふ）べし但（たゞ）し種を求（もとむ）る人にもつゝしむべき事

あり専一（せんいち）種を求（もとむ）る時節（じせつ）にも随分（ずいぶん）念（ねん）を入れ
調（とゝのふ）べし兎角（とかく）種元（たねもと）を非道（ひだう）にすべからず多く
其所（そのところ）により非道（ひだう）に直（ね）を小切（こき）る事を手 柄（から）にする
人あり是（これ）大きに損（そん）なるべし唯 現在（げんざい）に見ゆる
ごとく心ざしあしき場所（ばしよ）にては累年（るいねん）悪種
をもとめ蚕さん〴〵にして村柄（むらから）あしし又よき
場所（ばしよ）をば聞（きゝ）および我（われ）は人にまさるへし人は我（われ）
にをとらじと勝（すくれ）れ#1たる上種を以あたへるゆへ

の商売をするべきではない。しかしながら、これまでは人々が養育に迷い、
確かな理屈を知らないゆえに上等な種と下等な種を飼い分けることが
難しく、陽気が不順な時には区別なく飼い始めるため、
悪種を求めてもそれと知らずに、ただ陽気の違いか、または自分の手違い
か、或いは種が悪いのか、いずれとも分からない人が多い。もはやこのように
養育が正しければ、わずかに種の上下が分かり、すぐに判別できる
であろう。もし手前の間違いで蚕を失敗させた時には、
その模様を詳しく書き記しておき、翌年またその心得で
飼うべきである。ただし、種を求める人にも慎むべきことが

ある。第一に種を求める時節にも十分に注意を入れて
調えるべきである。とかく種元を粗末に扱うべきではない。多くの場合
その所により粗末に値段を安く切ることを手柄にする
人がいるが、これは大いに損失となるであろう。ただ現実に見える
ように心志の悪い場所では累年悪種を
求め、蚕がさんざんで村柄が悪い。また良い
場所のことを聞き及び、我は人に勝るであろう、人は我に
劣らじと優れた上種を与えるゆえ、
年々蚕が繁昌して富貴なものである。

When the weather is unfavorable, they begin raising without distinction, so
even when seeking poor eggs, they do not realize it, wondering only whether it is due to weather differences, their own mistakes,
or whether the eggs are bad - many people cannot tell which. Now, if
rearing is done correctly in this manner, one can discern the quality of eggs even slightly, and should be able to distinguish immediately.
If one fails with silkworms due to one's own mistakes,
one should record those circumstances in detail and
raise them with that knowledge the following year. However, there are also things that those seeking eggs should be cautious about.

First and foremost, when seeking eggs, one should also pay sufficient attention
and prepare properly. One should not treat the egg source carelessly. In many cases,
depending on the location, there are people who take pride in carelessly
cutting prices low, but this will result in great loss. Just as can be seen in reality,
in places with poor intentions, they seek inferior eggs year after year,
the silkworms perform miserably and the village character becomes poor. On the other hand, hearing about good
locations and thinking "I shall surpass others" and "others shall not be inferior to me," they provide
superior eggs with competitive spirit, therefore
the silkworms prosper year after year and become wealthy.
