ものである。その時には障子の外に葦簾でも掛けておくべきである。総じて高窓のない家では陽気を取り除くのが困難である。そこで煙出しや高窓を開け、西北の風を受けて養うべきである。しかし桑を与えた時には風を嫌っても問題ない。とかく桑から離れた時や休み最中の大暑に痛むものである。その時には起きそろわなくても早く桑を付けるべきである。また朝のうちは休んでいる蚕を上棚に上げ、昼から棚の中段に下ろし、桑を与えた蚕を

上棚に上げ、度々差し替えるべきである。元来四眠の時に用いる棚の分を三眠時分に家中に残らず掻き広げ、強暑の時は下棚に下ろし、油断があってはならない。しかしながら多くの棚が塞がっているのを見て別の棚を掻き始めるため、急な暑さをしのぐことが困難になり、上棚の蚕に間違いが生じる。このように注意すべきである。昼八時より家内で火を強く焚いてはならない。もっとも二眠前に火鉢などを置いたり、あるいは夜着布団などを掛けて養育した人も十分に当たることがある
