あるけれども、その人はその家の造りようまたは屋敷の向きの良い家で、寒暑の陽気を上手に調節するからである。多くの人はその真似をして、ただ温めれば良いものと心得て、桑の葉も与えずに夜着布団で息が抜けないように包み込み、強く温めるため、二眠までは見事に育っても四眠で残らず悪くなることが多い。ただ前に記した通り、温めずに度々桑を掛け、蚕の尻を取り替え、常に絶え間なく手入れをするならば、

二眠から四眠まで揃わなくても心配することはない。とかく二眠前のうちは他人の蚕より遅いことを良いこととして、急ぐことを悪いこととして知るべきである。他人が温めて急がせるなら、自分は涼しくして桑を度々掛け、桑で急がせるように養うべきである。いかような強暑や不順な年にも間違いがあってはならない。右の手立てで養育して、もし間違いがあるなら、その種の出来が良くないからである。種繭などをその心得もなく無造作に出すべきではない。翌
