䗝 揚（あく）る節（せつ）には随分ひきりを能ひきたる蚕
をひろひ其 跡（あと）へ桑を掛二日ほとひろひ其後（そのゝち）

かけて与えるべきである。このように五年十年の間には
初めから終わりまで蚕にとって大変不順な年があって
屋内屋外の区別なく極暑で凌ぎがたく、蚕が騒ぐことが
ある。この時には何度でも制限なく桑を与える。総じて
桑の茎を食べさせることは大変悪い。もし桑の手
配が間に合わない時には家の中へ酒を吹きかけ、大うちわで
暑さを冷ますべきである。また庭起きで桑を長く貯蔵し
たいことがある。その時には桑を一束ずつそれぞれ水を

かけて桑小屋へ入れ、まっすぐにして少しも傾がないように
立てる。毎日水を一度ずつかけ、上へ新しい藁菰をかけて置く
べきである。七日くらい貯蔵して用いても差し支えない。
総じて上蔟前には桑の計算を入れるべきではない。
五駄三駄は切り捨てようと思い、計算以外を貯蔵すべき
である。これが第一である。
第十八 蚕の上蔟の方法について
蚕が上蔟する時期には、十分に引き切りをよく引いた蚕
を拾い、その跡へ桑を与えて二日ほど拾い、その後

In this way, within five to ten years there will be years of great adversity for silkworms from beginning to end, when the extreme heat becomes unbearable both indoors and outdoors, and the silkworms become agitated. At such times, mulberry should be given any number of times without limitation. In general, having silkworms eat mulberry stems is very bad. If mulberry cannot be prepared in time, sake should be sprayed inside the house and the heat should be cooled with large fans. Also, there are times when one wants to store mulberry for a long time during yard-rearing. At such times, water should be sprinkled on each bundle of mulberry
