打桑にてのこらず揚へし第一 繭（まゆ）大 振（ふり）に
してしまり能 繭（まゆ）にねばりありて壱枚の
種にて干（ほし）たる繭五貫目は慥成（たしかなる）ものなり又
少もわかきやとひの蚕は繭（まゆ）の吟（ぎん）ばかり能（よく）ゆる
やかにして貫目 少（すくな）く又はねばりなきものなり
たとへば年中 耕作（かうさく）に念（ねん）をいるゝといへとも苅（かる）

桑を打って残らず上蔟させるのが第一である。繭は大きく
なり、締まりの良い繭になって粘りがあり、一枚の
種紙で干した繭五貫目は確実なものである。また
少しでも若い上蔟の蚕は、繭の外観ばかり良くて緩
やかであり、重量は少なく、また粘りのないものである。
例えば年中耕作に注意を入れるといっても、刈り
取りの時期に至り、稲穂の先端が少し実って風で
こぼれるのを見て驚き、刈り時には大いに損
得があるだろう。もう少し延ばして元の穂まで実った

ものを刈り上げる時には二割も増して石高が取れる
ものである。このように蚕も少し引いた（繭を作り始めた）のを
見て驚いて残らず上蔟させるのは間違いである。桑や繭をどれほど
作っても驚くべきではない。後の若い蚕が食いついて成長し、
二割も余計に重量が出るものである。また宵に
少し引いたものは、蚕の尻を抜いて桑をかけ、構わず
棚へ差し入れて置くべきである。夜は引かないものである。
多くは朝の五つ過ぎまたは八時から暮れ方まで引く
