たる蚕は舟起（ふなをき）よりうき少（すこし）も出（いで）ず天晴（あつはれ）
勝（すくれ）たる蚕なり《振り仮名：依＿レ之｜よつて これに》養育（やういく）の明（あきらか）なる事を
依得（いとく）し夫（それ）より年（とし）〳〵 䗝（かいこ）に色（いろ）〳〵の
質（しつ）を見出し今（いま）我（わが）心底（しんてい）に収置事（おさめをくこと）
を悋（おしみ）行先（ゆくさき）の疑（うたがふ）人に養蚕（やうさん）の理（り）を書（かき）
あたへしに五年十年つゞいてはづし
たる人十分にしおふせ近年 教（をしへ）の外（ほか）に
さま〴〵の手練（しゆれん）を得（ゑ）勝（すぐ）れて上手（しやうず）になり
大不順（おほふじゆん）なる年（とし）にも間違（まちがひ）ことなし

故（かるかゆへ）に数多 望（のぞ）む人ありて書写（かきうつ）す
いとまなく我（われ）文 盲（まう）の身（み）として他（た）の
嘲哢（あざけり）をも顧（かへり）見ず是（これ）を書集（かきあつめ）開（かい）板せ
しむるといへども元来（ぐはんらい）不才（ふさい）にして
文 字（じ）かなつかひの誤（あやま）り少（すくな）からずしかし
ながら養育（やういく）の理（り）におゐては少（すこ）しも
疑（うたが）ふ事（こと）あるべからず
現代語訳
【右丁】
そうして育てた蚕は、舟起きよりも浮き上がることが少しもなく、実に
優れた蚕である。これによって養育の明らかな事を
理解し、それより年々蚕にいろいろの
性質を見出し、今我が心底に収め置くことを
惜しみ、将来疑問を持つ人に養蚕の理を書き
与えたところ、五年十年続けて失敗していた
人も十分に成し遂げ、近年教えの外にも
様々な手練を得て、優れて上手になり、
大変不順な年にも間違いがない。

故に数多く望む人がいて書写する
暇がなく、私は文盲の身として他の
嘲りをも顧みず、これを書き集めて開版させる
といっても、元来不才にして
文字、仮名遣いの誤りが少なくない。しかし
ながら養育の理においては少しも
疑う事があってはならない。

The silkworms raised in this manner never floated up from the boat-raising method, and were truly
excellent silkworms. Through this I came to
understand the clear principles of cultivation, and from then on year after year I discovered various
qualities in silkworms, and now not wanting to keep what I have stored in my heart to myself,
I wrote down the principles of sericulture for those who might have doubts in the future.
Those who had failed for five or ten years
were able to accomplish it fully, and in recent years, beyond my teaching,
they acquired various skills and became excellent and skilled,
with no mistakes even in years of great adversity.

Therefore, there are many people who desire this, and I have no
time to copy it by hand. Though I am illiterate,
without regard for others' mockery, I have collected this writing and had it published.
Even so, being fundamentally untalented,
there are not few errors in writing and kana usage. However,
regarding the principles of cultivation, there should be
no doubt whatsoever.
