足並み等よく揃い候段、かねて合隊稽古をも出精し候ゆえの義と思し召され候旨、合組一同御賞美くださり候。
但し、この後、一度御称美くださり候事。
一、同年十二月、三之御丸教場ならびに本郷原にて合隊稽古を行い、列伍・足並み等よく揃い、当年上等へ進み候段、かねて出精致し候義と思し召され候旨、組一同御称美くださり候事。
一、同十四年十月、操練に出精し励み候につき、御褒美として新身の槍一穂を下し置かれ候事。
一、文政二卯年十一月、頭・内藤介右衛門が御家老職を仰せ付けられ、その後任の御役、小原常五郎組に罷りなり候事。

...that the alignment and marching steps of the ranks were well-ordered—this being attributed to their prior diligent practice in combined-unit drills—and the entire unit was commended accordingly.
Note: Thereafter, they received one further commendation.
One: In the twelfth month of the same year [i.e., the twelfth year of Bunka, 1815], at the training ground of the *Sannomaru* [the third citadel] and at Hongōhara, combined-unit drills were conducted, and the alignment of the ranks and marching steps were well-ordered, with the unit advancing to the upper grade for that year. This was regarded as the result of sustained diligence, and the entire unit was commended accordingly.
One: In the tenth month of the fourteenth year [of Bunka, 1817], for his zealous application to military exercises (*sōren*), he was awarded, as a commendation, one new spear (*atarashimi no yari, issui*).
One: In the eleventh month of the second year of Bunsei [1819, the year of the Hare], his unit commander (*kashira*), Naitō Suke'emon, was appointed to the position of *Karō* [Chief Elder/Senior Councillor], and [Tetsunojō] was consequently transferred to the unit of Obara Tsunegorō, who assumed the role of the succeeding officer.
