現代語訳
(上田八郎右)衛門組にて御城御番を相勤めた件。
一、明和五子年(1768)三月、羽州山形御城の御引渡しにつき、彼の地へ罷り越し、右の御用を相勤めた件。
一、同六丑年(1769)七月、御目付を仰せ付けられた件。
一、同年九月、御役料五十石を下し置かれた件。
一、同七寅年(1770)三月、御供勤番として江戸表へ罷り登った件。
一、同年四月、御供の御用、御道中ともに精を出し相勤めた段を仰せ出された件。
一、同年六月、病気につき御暇の願いを申し立てたところ、代わりの仲間を差し登らせるよう命じられた。もっとも、旅行(道中)も難しい状態であるため、旅行ができるようになるまでは、同苗(同族)の勘治方に逗留したい旨、願いの通りに任された件。
一、同年七月、佐藤平左衛門の三男・平三郎を婿養子にしたい旨、願いの通りに任された件。

(Under the command of Ueda Hachirou-right)emon's unit, he performed guard duty (goban) at the castle.
One item: In the 3rd month of the 5th year of Meiwa (1768), the year of the Rat, in connection with the handover of Yamagata Castle in Ushū (present-day Yamagata Prefecture), he traveled to that location and carried out the said official duty.
One item: In the 7th month of the 6th year of Meiwa (1769), the year of the Ox, he was appointed as a Inspector (Ometsuke).
One item: In the 9th month of the same year, he was granted a role stipend (oyakuryō) of fifty koku.
One item: In the 3rd month of the 7th year of Meiwa (1770), the year of the Tiger, he traveled up to Edo as an attendant on guard duty (otomo kinban).
One item: In the 4th month of the same year, it was officially proclaimed that he had served diligently in his duties both as an attendant and throughout the journey.
One item: In the 6th month of the same year, he submitted a petition for leave of absence (ohima) due to illness. In response, a replacement was ordered to travel up [to Edo] in his stead. However, as his condition made travel extremely difficult, his request to lodge at the residence of his kinsman (dōbyō) Kanji until he was well enough to travel was granted in accordance with his petition.
One item: In the 7th month of the same year, his petition to take as a son-in-law adoptee (muko yōshi) Heisaburō, the third son of Satō Heizaemon, was granted in accordance with his wishes.
