一、同五申年四月、恭定様が日光御社参を遊ばされた節、高外様士の仮役を仰せ付けられ、物頭へ加わり上御屋敷の御番を相勤めた。

One: In the ninth month of the same year, it was declared that he had diligently performed his escort duties [otomo-kata].
One: In the eighth month of the third year of An'ei [1774, the year of the Horse], he was appointed to the temporary post of o-tsugi-ban [honorable next-watch guard].
Note: After this, he was appointed to said temporary post on four further occasions.
One: In the fourth month of the fifth year of An'ei [1776, the year of the Monkey], on the occasion of Lord Kyōtei's pilgrimage to the Nikkō Shrine, he was appointed to a temporary post among the tōzama-shi [outside retainers], joined the unit under the monogashira [unit commander], and performed guard duty at the upper residence [kami-o-yashiki].
Note: It was declared that he had diligently performed his temporary duties.
One: In the sixth month of the same year, as the duty-rotation service [kinban] of the tōzama-shi was reduced, he was appointed as a hired retainer [o-yatoi].
One: In the eighth month of the same year, he was appointed to read and study the house precepts [o-kakun].
One: In the twelfth month of the seventh year of An'ei [1778, the year of the Dog], in recognition of his diligent performance of duties as an outside hired retainer [tōzama o-yatoi], he was granted four ryō in gold per year as a supplementary expense allowance [hiho].
