【序文】
昔時（むかし）朋友（ほうゆう）山東（さんとう）何（なに）がし。善悪（ぜんあく）一双（いつさう）の玉を磨（みが）ひて。
世（よ）に輝（かゝやく）こと已（すで）に三 遍（へん）に曁（およ）べり。這頃（このころ）耕書堂（かうしよだう）の
主人（しゆじん）。余（よ）にその四 遍（へん）を需（もと）む。烏虎（あゝ）我（わが）川童子（かつは）の屁（へ）
玉を以て。奚（なんぞ）卞和子（べんくはし）#1の眼（め）玉を欺（あざむか）ん今や此玉
三遍 廻（まわつ）て煙艸包（たばこいれ）舗（や）の引出しに隠（かく）る。淡海公（たんかいこう）#2も
把（と）ることかたく。藺相如（りんしやうじよ）#3も全くしかたし。故（ゆかるがゆへ）に
詞（ことば）の璧（たま）を返（かへ）して辞（じ）すれとも免されば遂（つい）に玉〳〵の
需（もとめ）を塞（ふさい）て。是を戯（け）作の換（かへ）玉となし。廼（すなはち）書肆（ほんや）の

昔、友人の山東某は、善悪一対の玉を磨いて、
世に輝かせることすでに三回に及んだ。最近、耕書堂の
主人が、私にその四回目を求めてきた。ああ、私のような河童の屁の
玉で、どうして卞和のような目利きの
眼を欺くことができようか。今やこの玉は
三回回って煙草入れ屋の引き出しに隠れている。淡海公でも
手に入れることは難しく、藺相如でも完全に手の施しようがない。そこで
言葉の璧を返してお断りしようとしたが、許されないので、ついに玉々の
求めに応じて、これを戯作の偽玉とし、そこで書肆の

【Preface】
Long ago, my friend Santō [someone] polished a pair of gems representing good and evil,
making them shine in the world already three times. Recently, the
master of Kōshodō has requested that I create the fourth. Alas, with my kappa's fart-
gem, how could I deceive the discerning eye
of Bian He? Now this gem has
circulated three times and lies hidden in a tobacco shop's drawer. Even Duke Tankai would find it
difficult to grasp, and Lin Xiangru would be completely helpless. Therefore, I tried
to return the verbal jade and decline, but when not permitted, I finally responded to the repeated
requests by making this into a comic work's substitute gem, and thus I present it to the parent
