売薬運上金近来手代二而茂
同様今弐朱相納候儀者前々より之
御定二候処右売薬商売之もの
共手代差置夫々江為相廻候趣も
相聞候右之手代幾人差置候も
不問事二候得共手代之分迚も
運上相納候二付而者 之上相受取
可申筈二候至近頃売薬守之致し
手代も両に相置請方江為相廻
候者茂みかけ候處無札二而商売
いたし手代分者不相願無札
尓て商売致候而茂不吉事
二も心得候哉いつとなく右之
始末に漏引候得共元来御定
も背き手代二ても人別之運上
可相納筋二候間夫々糺之上可為
御法品有之候得共多年等閑之
仕末中々も右之御定筋を染し
不相弁者も有之趣二付此度之
義者糺之御法之およハす候間
向後心得違無之様可致候
尤通年売薬渋行二而右
商売守二致し候者茂有之趣
相聞候得共前々及御法候通
現代語訳
売薬運上金については近来手代であっても同様に今二朱を納めることは前々からの御定めであるところ、右の売薬商売をする者どもが手代を差し置いて、それぞれの場所へ回らせている趣も聞いている。右の手代を何人差し置こうとも問わないことであるが、手代の分といえども運上を納めることについては、その上で相受け取り申すべき筈である。
最近になって売薬師が手代も両（所）に置き、請け方へ回らせている者も見かけるところ、無札にて商売をなし、手代分は相願いもせず無札にて商売をしても差し支えないことと心得ているのか、いつとなくそのような始末になっている。しかしながら元来御定めにも背き、手代であっても人別の運上を納めるべき筋であるから、それぞれ糺した上で御法度とすべきことがあるけれども、多年等閑にしてきた仕末で、中々右の御定め筋を染（浸）ましく弁えない者もある趣につき、この度のことは糺しの御法に及ばず候間、向後心得違いのないよう致すべきである。

Regarding the tax on medicine sales, recently even assistants (apprentices) must pay the same two shu as has been the established rule from long ago. However, it has been heard that those who engage in medicine sales are placing assistants and sending them around to various places. No matter how many assistants they place, this is not questioned, but regarding the assistants paying their tax, it should be received properly according to the established procedure.
Recently, medicine sellers have been placing assistants in both locations and sending them around to customers. Some are conducting business without licenses, and they seem to think that assistants need not apply for licenses and can conduct business without licenses without any problem. Somehow this has become the state of affairs. However, this goes against the original regulations, and even assistants should pay taxes as individuals, so after investigating each case, there should be prohibitions. But due to many years of neglecting this matter, there are those who do not properly understand these regulations.
