出向ひて今や〳〵と待欠たり去は白菊の大将
長嶋まで打向われし時あやしけ成男弐人あは
たゞしく欠来り既に賊徒川久保を通り兼笹
井村へ趣候間伊勢山は気遣なし早く笹井へ御向い
可有と云捨て走帰り去は手分して向わんとて
伊勢山は藤印四十餘人を引分遣シ白菊
印五拾餘人は笹井口へぞ向はれける此注進
は賊徒よりまはし置て犬也とわ後にぞ思￣ヒ合たり
去程に藤印の大将篝火を見あてに伊勢山へ
馳られしか六蔵か決に恐れて賊徒進み兼暫
し彳み居たる所に彼藤印の大将真一文字に欠
通り先に進し梵天をきり落せは大将討れ
し心地して川原を下へ迯下る笹井のはしには
稲穂印白菊印両大将 牀几（シヤウキ）に懸り下知せられ
けれは又川下へ迯下り追手の橋を越さんとするに
在郷向の大将弐人四十余人にて篝火焚て扣へたり

今か今かと待ち構えていた。ところが白菊印の大将が長嶋まで打ち向かわれた時、怪しげな男二人が慌ただしく駆けてきて、「すでに賊徒は川久保を通り過ぎ、笹井村へ向かっておりますので、伊勢山は心配ありません。早く笹井へお向かいください」と言い捨てて走り帰った。そこで手分けして向かおうとして、伊勢山へは藤印の四十余人を分けて遣わし、白菊印の五十余人は笹井口へと向かわせた。この注進は賊徒の側から回し置いた囮であったと、後になって思い合わせた。
さて、藤印の大将は篝火を目印に伊勢山へ駆けつけたが、六蔵の計略によって恐れをなした賊徒は前進できず、しばらく立ち止まっていた。そこへ彼の藤印の大将が一直線に駆け抜け、先頭に立てた梵天を切り落とすと、賊徒は大将が討たれたかのような心地がして、川原を下へと逃げ下った。笹井の橋には稲穂印・白菊印の両大将が床几に腰かけて指揮を執っていたので、また川下へと逃げ下り、追手橋を越えようとすると、在郷方面の大将二人が四十余人を率いて篝火を焚いて控えていた。

However, when the general bearing the white chrysanthemum banner had advanced as far as Nagashima, two suspicious-looking men came rushing up in great haste and said, "The rioters have already passed through Kawakubo and are heading toward Sasai Village, so there is nothing to worry about at Mount Ise. Please make haste to Sasai!" — and with that, they ran back. Thereupon, dividing their forces, over forty men under the wisteria banner were dispatched to Mount Ise, while over fifty men under the white chrysanthemum banner were directed toward the Sasai entrance. This report was later realized to have been a decoy planted by the rioters themselves.
Meanwhile, the general of the wisteria banner rode toward Mount Ise, guided by the beacon fires. The rioters, frightened by Rokuzō's stratagem, were unable to advance and had come to a standstill. At that moment, the general of the wisteria banner charged straight through their lines and cut down the bonten standard that had been raised at their head. The rioters, feeling as though their leader had been struck down, fled down along the riverbed. At the bridge at Sasai, the two generals bearing the rice-ear and white chrysanthemum banners were seated on camp stools directing the battle, so the rioters fled further downstream. When they attempted to cross Oite Bridge, two generals from the rural contingent with over forty men were waiting there, with beacon fires lit.
