この地の温泉は垂仁天皇の時代から、多くの人々が入浴して様々な病気に効果があることを知り、年々その効能が世間に広まってきましたが、近年また泉質の化学分析が行われてからは、さらに婦人の身体に効験があることから、都市部や地方の男女が険しい道のりを乗り越えてここで療養し、健康になって帰る人がとても多い名湯です。

The hot springs of this place have been known since the reign of Emperor Suinin, when many people bathed here and discovered their beneficial effects on various ailments. In recent years, following chemical analysis of the spring water quality, it has become even more renowned for its particular efficacy for women's health. Men and women from both urban and rural areas now endure treacherous journeys to recuperate here, with most returning home in good health, making this a truly famous hot spring.
